After finishing my first year of computer science studies at Columbia University, I spent a summer as a hackNY fellow. Through this program, I was introduced to the Branch co-founders. The Branch team had reached out through the hackNY network because they were looking for an iOS developer to lead their mobile engineering efforts for Potluck. I started part-time but quickly became a full-time member of the team. I took a voluntary leave of absence from college to work on the Potluck iOS app. Later that year, Facebook took notice of the Branch team and bought the company to bring on the fewer-than-ten employees to work on Rooms. When the mobile efforts for Rooms moved to London, so did I. I now live in London, where I work for Facebook on React Native for iOS.
